Ever since producing The Catfish Cookbook in the 1970s Barry Fast has been a food focused writer and editor. His articles have appeared in newspapers, magazines and blogs. Most recently he was a feature writer and restaurant reviewer for OffShore Magazine and Northeast Boating Magazine, publications dedicated to the recreational boating community.

His food interests led him to perfect healthy grilling techniques after many years as a local barbecue master chef. Combining the tastiest grilling techniques with the latest nutritional and heart health science, Barry has developed hundreds of recipes for every day grilled meals, year round. Unlike most other grilling experts, he focuses on vegetables, fruit, lean meat, poultry and seafood products emphasizing low fat and calories in his flavor packed recipes.

In addition to his passion for healthy grilling, Barry is an avid boater, kayaker and bike rider. He lives with his wife Carol on City Island, the yachting capital of New York City, where he fires up his grill nearly every day to the delight of family and friends.
