Barry Thomsen
Author of The Smart Guide To Starting Your Own Business
Barry is the author of 6 business books (2 International) and is a speaker at many conventions, conferences, trade shows and corporate meetings. He has assisted and coached other entrepreneurs on starting a business, customer service and inexpensive marketing methods.
He began his entrepreneurial career when he was only five years old. He decided that he wasn't going to sit for hours in front of his house and try to sell a pitcher of lemonade. He loaded two pitchers in his wagon and took them to nearby construction sites and sold out in fifteen minutes. When he got back home, his friend's pitchers were still almost full. At age ten, he was given the worst paper route because he was the youngest but he tripled the number of subscribers within one year to one of the largest paper routes in Chicago.
Barry has started, operated and survived in 20 businesses over the past 30 years, several at the same time. He has become an expert and created lucrative markets for computer supplies, business forms, Norman Rockwell lithographs, collector cookie jars, old casino chips and a couple of franchise retail stores.
He has over 100 published articles in business journals, Chamber and Association newsletters and featured articles for Home Business and Opportunity World magazines. His business success articles have been used on the American Management Association website.
